Circle of St. Francis

For 800 years, the Franciscan friars have been a peaceful presence, preserving Christianity and caring for the holy Christian shrines and the people.  In the years since the Conventual Franciscan Friars began their ministry at Marytown, the spirit of Saint Francis has continued and is a prominent presence as we strive to fulfill the calling to rebuild the Church.

Marytown is considered one of the most beautiful pilgrimage sites in the nation and a signpost for the greater Christian community.  The sacred space was commissioned in 1926 and has been a site of perpetual adoration since the doors opened in 1928.  It is a place where the Conventual Franciscan Friars are committed to "love without limits,” exemplifying the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe, a Conventual Franciscan Friar who gave his life for another during the Holocaust.
At Marytown, we serve the spiritual needs of a broad community of people—locally and nationally.  Through our ministries of Eucharistic Adoration, Prison Ministry, daily Masses, weekday Confessions, catechesis, retreats and conferences; visitors experience the physical and spiritual journey they seek while helping Christianity flourish.
